MOTOR RENTAL, DELIVERY TO DIAMOND CREEK AND PICK-UP AT SOUTH COVE

Diamond Creek to South Cove can be a very enjoyable float.  It's hard to pass up the beautiful side canyons, exciting waterfalls, and wonderful hikes.  However, it can also be the float from hell with head winds and miles of almost no current. 

Here's how Canyon REO’s Motor Service works.  On the day that you will be passing Diamond Creek, mile 225, Canyon REO will meet you there at 10 am with a motor, 6 gallons of fuel and transom for your raft.  Our warehouse/delivery person will help you get the motor and transom rigged and will demonstrate proper operation.  The following items are crucial to returning the motor in good condition and therefore saving you any repair charges:

• The motor must be transported as directed and in the box provided.
• The motor must not be used until you reach flat water.
• The transom and motor must be securely fastened with safety chain.
• The motor must not be run with the propeller out of the water.

Here are some items that you may find helpful:

• Fresh food, drinks and ice (extra cost) can be brought to your group at Diamond Creek.

• Our motors are 4 stroke 5 hp Briggs & Stratton. 
• Rafts need to be attached side-to-side, frame-to-frame. 
• Your flotilla will move at approximately 5 to 6 mph.  Once you reach cruising speed throttle back to conserve fuel. 
• Price includes 6 gallons fuel for the motor.  You might want to purchase extra fuel for cruising.

• There are lots of sand bars in this stretch along the sides of the river and in lake channels.  The wrinkly lines usually mean sand bars approximately 20 ft. in front.
• You will be charged for damages that occur while the motor is in your possession - Please make sure that you understand the correct operation and method of transportation.

• If you do have a problem, please let us know so we can take care of it in a timely manner.  The next client would greatly appreciate it.  We want and need to maintain our reputation for providing the highest quality equipment on the river.
